WHEN YOU VISIT OUR WEBSITE

WHEN YOU ACCESS THE SOHA 

When you use the SOHA your personal details are collected in the form of a registered a username – which is your email address or mobile phone number

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available HERE. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

WHEN YOU CONTACT US DIRECTLY

We collect basic personal information (name, contact details etc.) when you contact us directly. We’ll record what you say to us if you contact us by email, phone, website chat or social media. We’ll also record your IP address if you contact us by website chat and your social media account information when you contact us through our social media channels.

FOR MARKETING AND CUSTOMER INSIGHT PURPOSES

We use your information for customer insight and marketing purposes. In some cases we will purchase information from 3rd Parties, but this usually aggregated data and does not normally directly identify you. We will also keep a record of your social media account name and information you make available to us via your social media account settings when you connect your social media account to ours, by messaging us, liking or following a page, tagging us in post or commenting on our posts.

OTHER INFORMATION COLLECTED

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. WHO DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION WITH?

  • You can change your mind wherever you give us your consent and withdraw that consent, such as for direct marketing.

In some circumstances there are limitations to your data protection rights and we may not always be required to or be able to complete your request. We will tell you why in these circumstances.
